This book was a wonderful read and perfectly relayed the message of accepting vitiligo in a way that connected the reader with relatable experiences set in their own culture. The events in the story highlighted the connection a believer has with Allah, and encourages to trust in his plan. Through colorful and thoughtful illustration the book’s message is presented in a way that appeals to the reader and compels them to keep going and admire the story. The reflections at the end and the perspective of deen that it implements in the story helps the reader to not only accept the condition, but also consoles them and presents vitiligo as a worldly test from God. All in all, this book was a wonderful way of connecting vitiligo, a condition that might compel people to feel alienated, to Deen and changes the previously negative perspective readers may have had on the condition.
